Work in all mediums is accepted. We reserve the right to refuse pieces that are offensive in nature such as those containing pornographic material, promoting the use of drugs, or which can be interpreted as racist, sexist, LGBT discriminatory etc., at our own discretion. Art can also be rejected for other reasons such as poorly performed craftsmanship, unclean edges of paintings, unsuitable frames, or because the art piece doesn’t meet the quality requirements of the gallery in any other way.

The gallery is small in size so the size of the art will be considered. 3D: Three-dimensional work has no set size limitations. However, if your work is very large, please call in advance to see if the gallery will be able to accommodate it.

Art on the Balcony is dedicated to promoting local artists. The primary purpose is to help once advance in your career as an artist. This exhibition is an opportunity to showcase your art and build an exhibition resume. We are a young gallery operating on a shoestring budget, so at this point we find it necessary to charge an entry fee to participating artists. The fee is used to cover overhead and expenses connected to our exhibition program. Thank you for your interest and support.

Entry fees: $20 for one art piece, $40 for two pieces, $50 for three pieces. Additional submissions are $15 per piece. Entry fee can be paid in cash or personal check made out to Art on the Balcony.

Awards: 1st Place-Best in show will win 4 free entries ($65 value), 2nd Place-Best in Show will win 3 free entries ($50 value), and 3rd Place-Best in show will win 2 free entries ($40 value) to upcoming juried exhibitions. A signage mentioning the award will hang next to the piece during the exhibition. At this point – due to our tight budget – we are not able to grant monetary awards.
